Taro and Taro at Icey Ice

One of my favourite bubble tea drink is taro flavour. I have tried a few other bubble milk tea flavours but I always come back to taro.

My youngest niece, Justine visited us with her boyfriend, Jono, on the weekend. They had just spent 8 months backpacking and travelling around South America and stopped in Perth to see family and friends on the way home to Queensland.

Dim Sum First

Of course we went for dim sum at Dragon Palace. Just about everyone’s favourite place. You have to get there are at 10.30am, any later and you’re playing a game of bingo waiting for a table with the right number of seating. There were nine of us in total including my family, my mum and dad and my expecting niece Candice and her husband because we were early it didn’t take long to get a table.  Just bare that in mind next time if you are considering having dim sum on the weekend.

Dessert Time

You, see we all have a sweet tooth and so some suggested Icey Ice!

I could taste Mango King as soon as the words Icey Ice was uttered.

Being a bit of a greedy guts and happy at the fact that there were so many of us, I figured, lets order several different desserts and that way I benefit by tasting some new flavours.

And if I didn’t like it then that’s OK because someone else will have it.

We ordered :

There are so many choices and newer flavours on the menu.

The new Taro & Taro caught my eye at the counter, because of my love for taro bubble tea, so I decided to not order Mango King today. Who knew what was about to happen.

All I can say is that I was more than extremely happy with my Taro & Taro Icey Ice selection.  It was better than I thought it would be. I was making all those “mmm this is so good” , “aww yum” noises and grunts!

I’m so glad I ordered it because looking at the promotional picture they had, it didn’t look very appealing. I guess because the colours weren’t vibrantly bright as you can see in my photo, as compared to the Mango King Ice. The ice is shaven so finely and soft. It’s such a comfort to the tongue.

I didn’t want to share!

I am a reluctant sharer when it comes to food that I like. Reluctant being the key word here.

I’m like a toddler who won’t share toys! But I don’t have tantys 🙂

I’m not sure if you would like the Taro Icey Ice. I think it may have been a flavour and fragrance I grew up with. You may be better off with the new Love Story Icey Ice they have. It has rose syrup, with lychees and rose type jelly squares. Also very tasty!

But its Taro & Taro for me now!

Good bye Mango King it’s been nice knowing you 🙁

Have you tried Icey Ice yet?

Hi Agnes, you have such a sweet tooth (me too). I am yet to try Icy ice and am very tempted after reading your posts. I haven’t had Dim Sum since forever, so over the Xmas break that’s where I am heading. I will try and drag Journey to contentment with me and give you a call. Rae xx

      Hi Rae!
I sure do, I guess its “sweets for the sweet!” 🙂
Sounds like we will have to have a dim sum and icey ice date in the new year to celebrate.
      What do you think?
